…To the land of the pine, thumbin my way down to North Caroline…”-Old Crow Medicine Show That song basically bee bopped around in mah brain all weekend as we headed to Raleigh for HindersFest2k13. About 40+ of P’s family migrated to Raleigh this weekend to participate in the Triangle ALS Walk to holler our support for Aunt Annie, the most bodacious babe on wheels. In addition to walking to raise money to stomp this stupid and incredibly lame disease into the ground, we gathered to basically just celebrate family; loudly and proudly. This weekend also marked the first meeting of Luke with his Aunt, Uncle, and 2 new cousins! He’s out numbered with the estrogen right now, but maybe that will change someday…for his sake :).

We quickly realized after Luke was born, that we kinda no longer were important. We have become the vessels that bring him to events and functions for others to enjoy. It’s fine…we’re not bitter…

Before we could even go to bed though we had to wash ALL OF THE POLLEN off of the tiny one…it just floats in the air like clouds of dust…and covers anyone and anything it comes in contact with…even 14 pounds of chub and drool.

Saturday morning was the walk in downtown Raleigh. Such an improvement from just walking up and down a random road last year :), kudos planning committee. Team Fortier dominated yet again, largest team, biggest fundraising amount, and Top Fundraising Individual. I think others are starting to get a bit jealous. Its so great to see a sea of lime green joining together for the Fortier Five.

The rest of the weekend was filled with more family, more food, a dash of soccer, and a bit of churchin’ it in downtown Raleigh. When can we do it all again??

wow…fantastic…..brought tears to my eyes!!! happy tears…
