I walk everyday. A lot. These long legs of mine carry me all over…and quite fast if I say so myself. But, I’m not going to write a post about walking…that would be silly wouldn’t it? It would make it better if I was telling you about a time when I’m going to be walking for a great great cause…that’s better. SO I’ll do that.
Back in November, P’s Aunt Annie was diagnosed with ALS. What is that? ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a deadly illness with no known cause or cure. It affects the motor neurons in a person’s brain and spinal cord. When the motor neurons die, the muscles waste away. Gradually, a person is robbed of the ability to walk, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. All the while, the mind remains sharp and aware of the total paralysis that is quickly setting in. In other words…it is awful…it is stinky…it needs to go away.
Only one way to do that, raise money for more research so they can find a cure. SO that’s what we are gonna do. We are walking on May 5th down in Raleigh to support Annie through this process and get some major funding to stop this icky nasty thing.
Wanna help? Visit my personal fundraising page and make a little donation! A dollar, your daily coffee money, your metro fare, every little bit counts. Every little bit helps. Every little bit helps Annie and her family keep going strong!
Donate for Annie. Do it for Matt. Do it for Lizzie. Do it for Kathryn. Do it for Genevieve. Donate for Jake…their dog. Do it for the Hinders Clan. Do it for yourself. Do it for me.
Let’s keep them laughing.
Can’t thank you enough!
