Date night this week consisted of BGR joint and a movie at the Old Town Alexandria theater. We’ve lived here for almost a year and a half and never managed to see a movie in this lil gem. The fun part about this place is that they have turned an old theater (it still smells old…really old) into “2” movie theaters. We were not aware that there were 2 theaters until the opening of “The Thing” started playing…I quickly scurried us outta that and found out the other theater was upstairs in the old balcony…duh.

All the previews for 50/50 played it out to be this “I love you, man” esque type bro-mance comedy. About 10 minutes into it you realize, nope, not the case, completely different, and completely better than that.

It’s sweet, it’s smart, it’s witty, it’s heart breaking at times, it’s realistic, it’s awesome, it’s unexpected. If you get the chance, go see it:
