Today, is P and I’s one year anniversary. It’s crazy to think just last year we were just married, celebrating at our reception with all our family and friends after reciting everlasting vows to one another.
To say I’ve learned a lot this year is an understatement. P and I went to our favorite lil mexy restaurant (menus are on longer required anymore…thats how too terribly often we go there) tonight to celebrate the big year one and talked about some of the things we learned this year and what we’re most excited about learning and doing in year 2. P learned to take out the trash without being asked…I learned the value of a simple hand holding :P. We learned other more sentimental things too…but those I shall keep to myself.
The first year of marriage holds a lot of firsts. The first home, the first set of holidays as a married unit, first married valentines day, first married birthdays, first wedding as a married couple where you get to sign the RSVP Mr. and Mrs…the first set of checks that say your name on them, the first time you get to write your new married name and have a bit of an awkward letter because you started writing your maiden name…(or is that just me?). …the list kinda goes on and on of 365 days of firsts.
There are big things coming our way this year, and I can’t wait to share them with P and continue to work our way through this crazy, amazing thing called marriage. Onto year 2, just me and you.
Honeymoon in Jamaica
First Thanksgiving Turkey
First Married Christmas Eve.
First Easter Family Dinner in Apt 610
First Married Birthday
First (certainly not the last :P) Married trip to NYC
First trip to the West Indies…and first time driving on the left side of the road 🙂
First International Soccer Game
First Anniversary at the Zoo
A goal I have for myself this year (which P may hate) is to take more pictures of the two of us…I have so many pictures of our surroundings and where we’ve been…and about a handful of “us” picks. Must fix this….let’s see if I can make it happen. But then you have to do that annoying “will you take our picture” bit and no one ever really frames it how you’d like…and it’s annoying, but whatever, its pathetic I have so little pics of the two of us. Rant ended.
happy anniversary mr and mrs! xoxo (and I promise if you ask me the “will you take our picture” that I will frame it properly)- its a shared pet peeve!
Oh that is soooooo sweet! Congrats my friend! Wishing you and Pete a lifetime of happiness;0)
