Welcome back Ro.

I may very well be the only person on the planet that is excited for Rosie O’Donnell to be getting her own tv show again… (http://www.oprah.com/omagazine/OWN-Preview-New-Shows-on-OWN-Oprah-Winfrey-Network/4). I know what you’re thinking…Rosie is a mean, cold-hearted, hot-head who is completely obsessed with all things agitating… but, not to me. I grew up rushing home to watch the Rosie O’Donnell show EVERYDAY. I played into her hand. I got Koosh balls in my stocking. I recorded most episodes I would miss. I sat on the carpet in front of the tv in awe, mostly because N Sync was a frequent guest on her show…and we all know how i felt/feel about those 5 lil crooners…

But why do I really love her this much? I’ll tell ya. Rosie introduced me to musicals. Yep, there you have it. Had Rosie O’Donnell not come into my living room most afternoons with casts from current musicals, I may have been sparred from a life of happy and joyful gleeful tunes…Week after week, cast after cast, more in love I fell. I remember the first time the cast of Chicago with Ann Reinken was on performing “we both reached for the gun”; that was it, I was hooked. My world as I knew it was changed forever… I won’t even get into my first glance at Sutton Foster performing “gimme gimme” from Thoroughly Modern Millie….fast forward to my outburst at the Kennedy Center for my lack of email notification and a sold out performance with me having no ticket…

So, heres to hopin her new show isn’t a platform for her to make people angry, but to maybe bring some more musical lovin’ back into our lives….
