“We are the music of your life”

This week’s been less than fun, with unforeseen circumstances and unexpected loses; they always say people turn to movies and music to escape. Meh, I find that a bit weird, considering songs are only 3 minutes longs and most movies are about 2 hours in length. However, if there is one movie I know that always makes me smile, even thought I’ve seen it 3249820438204832 times, it’s Mr. Holland’s Opus.

I mean cmon… it’s got music and it’s a movie..about music.. and about this awesome teacher who touched a bajillion lives and has a deaf child ( if you know me, I love the sign language 😛 ). From start to finish, teaching the awkward red headed girl…sadly named Gertrude.. to play the clarinet, teaching the football jock to play the drums, finding out his child is deaf, being a drivers ed instructor, and then in the end with the big finale and orientation celebrating his life with sweet music… just love it.

“look around you, there is not a life in this room that you have not touched, each one of us is a better person because of you, we are your symphony mr. holland, we are the melodies and the notes of your opus…and we are the music of your life”. Gertrude Lang
